The client

FutureYou Cambridge, part of the Cambridge Nutraceuticals group, sells science-backed supplements formulated for better absorption. Nearly every product is sold on subscription, and recurring orders drive a large share of revenue.

The challenge

The business had relied on bespoke in-house systems, including a custom subscription platform, run by a sizeable tech team. Under a new strategy that setup was too costly, slow to change and building technical debt. It also held back a more customer-first experience.

The solution

01Technical discovery

Swanky defined launch-critical features, mapped the solution architecture and recommended a consolidated stack. Risk assessments and RACI analysis covered every third-party partner.

02Replatform and subscription migration

The store moved from a hybrid BigCommerce/Magento front end to Shopify Plus, and over 30,000 subscribers moved to Recharge with minimal disruption. A custom subscription widget and metaobject-powered trials were added.

03Integration via Patchworks

Patchworks connected Shopify and NetSuite to sync orders and inventory, delivered in just three months.

04Discovery-led UX

Condition-based mega menu navigation, an Octane AI supplement quiz and Trustpilot reviews help an older audience find the right products with confidence.

The results

FutureYou now offers a guided shopping experience tailored to health needs, with self-serve subscription management. The ecommerce team has a simpler backend and needs far less developer input. Free of legacy architecture, the brand is set up for further growth.
